This Is Love by Caroline Nolan

This Is Love - Caroline O'Nolan

This is Love is about the struggle to find love after loss. It's an expressive journey that I was pleased to find was handled very carefully and respectfully. The author takes you slowly through Rachel's loss of her husband Ben and into an intense friendship with Jackson Perry in this saddest form of a love triangle. I was so comfortable reading this story that I could have kept reading for days more. The writing style feels so cozy and classic. I'm a big fan of that. I also have to compliment the imagery in this book. Every smile is felt. It really has been a completely satisfying reading experience

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Me Before You - Jojo Moyes

Well that was a slow burn. I got a little teary-eyed during one quick scene, but that's about it. Sad story, good story, but no major feels. 3 stars. I would've been okay with just watching the movie. Great audio narration. I might read the next, yeah.

This is WAR, Baby by K. Webster

This is War, Baby - RE&D - Vanessa Leret Bridges, K. Webster

I failed to feel the vibe. Other than the well written grisly moments and sex scenes, the book was mostly stale. I didn't feel like Baylee was giving any life to her story. War was great and so was the villain, Gabe. I would have given up if it weren't for them. I feel like I already know what's going to happen in book 2 or what possible twists could be made, so I probably won't read it unless my curiosity over War or Gabe is piqued.

Reading progress update: I've read 100%.

Tampa - Alissa Nutting

Okay, considering its "crackling prose" I will say that I enjoyed this, but it was too heavy on the graphics and it didn't let up, like ever. Lol. I don't know what to think.

Tampa - Alissa Nutting

Eeeep! I don't know if I should be reading this. Or anyone for that matter!!

A Cliche Christmas by Nicole Deese

A Cliché Christmas - Nicole Deese

Let the Christmas reads .... BEGIN!

I listened to this on audio and it was kinda cute. Wish I could've connected more. All in all it is a good book with a nice message. An okay read for me. 2.5

Reading progress update: I've read 40%.

A Constellation of Vital Phenomena: A Novel - Anthony Marra

I can't finish this. Not at the moment. What a shame because it is written like no other, but FUCK it's a demanding one. And I hate to say this, but I'd much rather watch the movie (is there a movie?) Someone tell me what happens. Give me all your spoilers. Guess I'll give it a go some other time (year).

99 Days by Katie Cotugno

99 Days - Katie Cotugno

99 days of drama and cheating and brothers fighting and friendships torn. I couldn't help it, I really enjoyed the show. I hope there's a continuation or at the very least I hope to hear about these characters in a different book.

I'm looking forward to other books written by this author.

The Devil's Metal by Karina Halle

The Devil's Metal - Karina Halle

This was okay. Loved the idea, but it lacked a connection, had weak points, and was NOT scary. I got hooked in the end, though, and I'm looking forward to The Devils Reprise. Dawn's family peaked my interest more than the typical rock band and their groupies, but I didn't get enough of her story. Hopefully book 2 will cover it (and blow me away?).

The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick

The Boy Most Likely To - Huntley Fitzpatrick

I've enjoyed my time with the Garretts once again. Gotta say, though, Calvin stole the show! A+++ for Tim and a huge F for his chemistry with Alice. The relationship between Tim & Cal definitely surpassed it. And that's all I really care to say.

More Than Water by Renee Ericson

More Than Water - Renee Ericson

Oh man, Science is hot!

More Than Water is a step above the typical NA contemporary romance novels of today. You won't find shallow characters or sloppy drama. The brilliant writing brings intelligence to the story. The characters have actual depth and you bond with them instantaneously to discover their lovable qualities. I got the best feeling from their chemistry. The best!! It was great to actually be able to learn a few things about science and art. I find it refreshing to read a sophisticated NA romance that still knows how to get dirty and make me laugh from some of the best banter I've read.

Opposites. Friends. Goals. Trust. Sex. Love. Life.

Loved the author's message.

Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher

Mud Vein - Tarryn Fisher

I had a bad start. Couldn't shake the boredom during Part 1. I hate that it set my mood. And maybe you can't mindfuck a mind fucker because nothing really shocked me. I predicted a lot and I was right. But trust me, I get it. It's profound with the right amount of darkness... I just didn't feel anything for it. And I'm jealous of you all that loved it.

Reading progress update: I've read 22%.

Mud Vein - Tarryn Fisher

Nothing is happening, but this is a Tarryn Fisher book so maybe everything is happening.

Bookriot: I Haven't Read a Book By a Man Since 2013 (It's Been Awesome)

How long has it been since you've read a book written by a man? Would you close them off entirely? I find it's hard enough to get people to read already that I wouldn't shut the door on male authors. This is interesting and common for romance readers, but I don't think this is for me.

Forever Light (Book 2) by Megan Smith

Forever Light - Megan Smith

This review will be the same for Forever Love #1 seeing as they complement eachother.

I knew from the authors message that I'd have to read both books if I wanted to get the full story, so I did. What I wasn't expecting was to be left hanging with both books. The stories of Landon & Macy and Cash & Madison are incomplete and had I realized this I would not have read them. I am told in both conclusions that there will be another set of books coming to continue their story, but I can't seem to find any information on the plans for those books. Normally, if I REALLY enjoy a series I'd be okay with the wait and the cliffhangers but I can't say I really enjoyed these. I love that these books were raw, the relationships calamitous, but I only liked them at best and I will definitely look into other books by both authors as long as they don't take on this side-by-side style. Endings were given but not supported and I really feel with just those few pieces..

the madman drug dealer's arrest, maybe, or Macy's pregnancy test results

(show spoiler)

..the stories could have been completed and my rating would not have to suffer.

Initially, I was going for 3 stars, but I'm not so sure now because I feel sort of tricked.
Macy was really great. Landon- not so much. I did enjoy the games. I even put the book down at some point and watched recaps of the Ducks vs Longhorns game on YouTube. I mean, I was into it before the letdown.
