What an ending!
This book was more juvenile than I expected. I liked Penryn and her cause, but there were times she'd think about the most irrelevant things and I'm like, Hello? Focus! You're in a dystopian novel. Please stop sharing your band camp memories. That aside, I enjoyed the bad guy Angels, the demons, the resistance, and of course Raffe. The storyline was cool, but the author's writing was sometimes great and sometimes not. I couldn't deal with some of the repeated use of words. I must've read the word "door" about 9 times in one paragraph. The book wrapped up with a fantastic ending and because of that ending I am sitting here somewhere between 3 and 4 stars.
